Isolated Power System (IPS)

Isolated Power System E901/E903 series is designed and manufactured to meet the latest requirements of supplying power to medical locations in accordance with IEC60364-7-710. The IT system distribution board in the Isolated Power System E901/E903 series supplies electrical power to group 2 medical locations in accordance with the IEC 60364-7-710 standards for circuits supplying to medical electrical equipment, systems intended for life support, surgical applications and other electrical equipment located in the “patients’ environment”.

In such locations, the use of the IT system with insulation monitoring and load current monitoring is mandatory. This applies to locations such as the anesthetic rooms, operating theatres, heart catheterization, intensive care units, angiographic examination rooms, premature baby rooms and etc.

Isolating transformers of the ES710 series for the power supply of single phase IT systems. A static screen is installed between the primary and secondary windings, which is connected to an isolated terminal. The mounting angles are isolated from the transformer core.

The single-phase isolating transformers meet the requirements of the following standards: IEC 60364-7-710: 2002-11, DIN VDE 0100-710:2002-11, IEC 61558-1: 1997, DIN EN 61558-1 (VDE 0570-1): 1998, IEC 61558-2-15: 1999, DIN EN 61558-2-15 (VDE 0570-2-15): 2001

The A-ISOMETER isoMED427P monitors the insulation resistance of unearthed AC circuits (medical “IT systems”). At the same time, the load current and temperature of the IT system transformer is monitored. In combination with EDS151 insulation fault locators and the appropriate measuring current transformers, the isoMED427P is designed to set up the respective equipment for insulation fault location.

Insulation fault location is carried out with EDS151 and the respective measuring current transformers. Once an insulation fault is detected by the iso-MED427P, the insulation fault location process will start automatically or manually. The iso-MED427P generates a test current which its amplitude is dependent on the existing system voltage and the insulation fault. In the case of insulation fault of low resistance, the locating current is limited to 1mA by the iso-MED427P. The current pulse flows from the iso-MED427P via the live part to the point of fault. From there, it flows via the insulation fault and the earth conductor (PE) back to the iso-MED427P. This locating current pulse is the detected by the measuring current transformers located in the insulation fault path and is evaluated by the EDS insulation fault locators.

The universal remote alarm indicator and test combination MK2430 is intended for visual and audible indication of operating status and alarm messages from BENDER systems such as EDS, RCMS and MEDICS. In MEDICS monitoring systems, the MK2430 meets the requirement of IEC 60364-7-710 in respect of test functions for IT system monitoring and messages from changeover modules.
